Zero Waste Forum, Istanbul

We were pleased to attend the opening day of the Zero Waste Forum, held in Istanbul on 5–7 June.

Throughout the three-day forum, critical topics such as circular economy, resource efficiency, climate-friendly production models, sustainable cities, energy transition, and the transformation of waste into economic value will be addressed.

Bringing together representatives from 183 countries, more than 120 ministers, over 200 mayors, business leaders, local authorities, academics, and international organizations, the Zero Waste Forum provides a highly valuable platform for shaping a more sustainable future.

As Fedyme, we are proud to be part of this transformation, positioned at the intersection of zero waste, circular economy, and sustainable protein production.

We convert agricultural by-products and food residues into high-quality alternative protein, valuable oils, and organic fertilizer through insects, one of nature’s most efficient bioconverters.

With this approach, we enable true upcycling by transforming low-value biomass into high-value products.

In our production model, designed around the zero-waste principle, larvae are utilized for protein and oil production, while the frass generated at the end of the process is returned to agriculture as an organic fertilizer and soil improver with biostimulant properties, helping to significantly reduce the use of agricultural chemicals.

In this way, our system does not generate waste; instead, it creates valuable resources that are reintegrated into the circular economy.

This important gathering in Istanbul will also serve as a strong preparatory platform for COP31 ANTALYA, particularly in terms of climate diplomacy, sustainable production, and resource management.
