As two entrepreneurs graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU), we decided to leave corporate careers after more than twenty years in leading global companies to pursue a shared vision of building a more sustainable future. We were driven by a shared belief that the world’s most urgent challenges require bold, innovative, and sustainable solutions.

A rapidly growing global population is driving unprecedented demand for protein. At the same time, climate change is reducing arable land and threatening agricultural productivity. Overfishing is putting pressure on marine ecosystems. Traditional protein sources alone cannot meet the rising needs of both food and feed industries. Recent disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic and major geopolitical conflicts have also revealed the fragility of international supply chains and the growing importance of self-sufficiency in critical sectors such as agriculture, food, energy, and defense.

We believe the future depends on discovering new, natural, and sustainable protein sources. Insects, with their exceptional nutritional value and efficient production model, represent one of the most promising opportunities of our time.

With this vision, we founded Fedyme Biotechnology to contribute to global food security through sustainable innovation and next-generation protein solutions. 

As Fedyme, we produce high-quality insect-based protein ingredients from Tenebrio molitor larvae (yellow mealworm), offering a natural and highly efficient solution for the feed and food industries. Our protein meal contains 55–80% protein with over 90% digestibility, making it an excellent ingredient for pet food and aquaculture feed markets, with long-term potential for human nutrition in global markets.

But our mission goes beyond protein.

We are shaping the future of sustainable agriculture through local innovation. As a valuable co-product, our biostimulant-enhanced frass fertilizer, boasting a rich organic matter content of over 85%, revitalizes soil fertility while optimizing chemical pesticide usage by up to 70%. By providing this reliable and cost-effective solution sourced from local resources, we protect your soil and ensure the production of high-quality yields.

Our production model is built on the principles of zero waste, upcycling, and industrial symbiosis. By feeding our larvae with agricultural side streams and by-products, we transform low-value materials into premium sustainable products.

Following 7 years of dedicated R&D studies and TÜBİTAK-supported innovation projects, we have successfully completed pilot-scale operations and field trials, validating both its technology and commercial potential. Building on these results, and through our new corporate structure under the Fedyme Biyotechnology, we are now preparing for industrial-scale production. The location of our first industrial-scale facility has been identified, strategic financing plans are progressing, and discussions continue with partners and investors who share our vision.

Our ambition is to make Fedyme one of pioneering biotechnology companies in alternative protein and sustainable agriculture, while contributing to global food security and a healthier planet.
